Q & A
The benefits of hot yoga
Weight loss, a more youthful appearance, improved digestion and circulation, enhanced focus, a calmer mind, these are just a few of the immediate benefits of any of our hot yoga modalities - Hot Yoga, Yin Yoga and Power Vinyasa.
With consistent practice, hot yoga restores vital balance and optimal health as it also works as an excellent preventive system that can reduce many symptoms of chronic ailments and diseases. Physical, mental and spiritual harmony - that "yoga buzz" - will be felt in all areas of the practitioner's life.
Why is the room heated?
The room is heated to prevent injury, warm the muscles, and allow for a deeper release within the body. Sweat is good! Toxins and poisons are flushed out of your body through each practice. Fresh air is always circulating and humidity is raised for ideal "hot" yoga conditioning. The heat will soon become your friend and in short time feel almost 'invisible'. You'll quickly grow to love yoga in a heated room and the many health benefits it safely and effectively offers all doshas (body types) year round.
What should I expect my first class?
First time students are always welcome--Classes are open to all levels. We encourage you to pace yourself and have fun. The rewards of hot yoga happen just by "showing up" and staying in the heated room. It's important to hydrate well and arrive 5 minutes early to register and meet your instructor before your first class.
Please bring a mat (some available to borrow), 2 towels and water. Drink plenty of water before and after class. Best of all, your first class is only £5. After that, one class a week is £12 (£10 for fit from within clients) If you take 2 classes of HOT YOGA a week the cost is £18 per week. Classes must be paid for in 10 week blocks. Individual sessions cost £15.
Hot Yoga Tips and Cautions
It is essential to have your own yoga mat and towel when doing Hot Yoga since you will be sweating so much. Students tend to wear very little clothing for the same reason.
Make sure to drink plenty of water before and after class so you don't get dehydrated. It is not advisable to eat during the two hours before class.
Hot Yoga is not advised for pregnant women, since it can raise the core body temperature.
